Where We Work

SERVIR works in more than 50 countries in Africa, Asia, Central and South America. In partnership with regional, technical organizations, SERVIR has established regional "hubs" within selected host institutions.

Currently, the SERVIR hubs and host institutions include:

  • SERVIR Amazonia: implemented by the Alliance of Bioversity International and the International Center for Tropical Agriculture (CIAT) in Cali, Colombia with a consortium of partners
  • SERVIR Central America: coming soon
  • SERVIR Hindu Kush Himalaya: at the International Centre for Integrated Mountain Development (ICIMOD) in Kathmandu, Nepal
  • SERVIR Southeast Asia: at the Asian Disaster Preparedness Center (ADPC) in Bangkok, Thailand
  • SERVIR West Africa: implemented by the International Crops Research Institute for the Semi-Arid Tropics (ICRISAT) in Bamako, Mali with a consortium of partners.

Previously, SERVIR supported a regional hub in Eastern and Southern Africa. Currently SERVIR supports NASA Applied Science Team members work on going in the region.

Each SERVIR hub is led by a locally-based institution with strong relationships to the countries and stakeholders in their region. The structure of a hub is designed to meet its contextual needs; for example some hubs include a consortium of partners. While there isn’t a single model for a hub’s structure, each of the hubs host a locally led team of experts in geospatial science, climate change, environmental issues, and community engagement. At its core, SERVIR works to strengthen the capacity of people and institutions at each hub and within each country served.
