SERVIR-Mesoamerica

SERVIR-Mesoamerica is regional service that provides a suite of analysis and visualization tools that integrate satellite and other geospatial data to support environmental monitoring and informed decision-making. The program focuses on national priorities and regional needs across Central America and the Caribbean, aiming to increase access to satellite data and to strengthen national and regional capacities to harness the full potential of remote sensing and geospatial technologies.

Current Conditions

Some of the particular issues that SERVIR-Mesoamerica addresses are fire detection, land-cover/land-use (LCLU) and LCLU change, algal blooms, short-term weather forecasting, climate change, and natural disasters.

Partner Countries: Belize, Costa Rica, Dominican Republic, El Salvador, Guatemala, Haiti, Honduras, Nicaragua, and Panama. SERVIR analyses extend into other parts of Mesoamerica (e.g., Southern Mexico) and the Caribbean.
