WHO WE ARE

ABOUT SERVIR Global Collaborative

For over two decades, SERVIR has stood at the forefront of harnessing Earth observation and geospatial technologies to meet pressing development and environmental challenges. Built on a strong foundation of partnership between NASA, USAID, and a global network of leading regional institutions, SERVIR became a beacon of innovation, capacity building, and science-based decision-making in regions most vulnerable to climate and environmental change.

Now, the SERVIR Global Collaborative carries this legacy forward — reimagined as an open and evolving alliance of experts, institutions, and communities committed to continuing and expanding SERVIR’s mission. Comprising former SERVIR hubs and new partners, the Collaborative champions:

Geospatial service innovation

To support climate adaptation, disaster resilience, food security, water management, and more.

Regional capacity strengthening

Through training, mentorship, and knowledge co-development.

Collaborative problem-solving

Rooted in local needs and informed by cutting-edge science.

Sustained partnerships and open access

To data, tools, and platforms for impact at scale.

The Collaborative is led by its independent regional hubs, with SIG-NAL (Spatial Informatics Group – Natural Assets Laboratory) providing technical backbone support.

The Network

The SERVIR network is made up of regional “hubs” dedicated to environmental management through the integration of Earth observations and geospatial technologies. The SERVIR hubs have a team of local specialists with expertise in geoscience, environment and natural resource management, and community engagement. Through their collaboration, these hubs lead a co-creation process to develop tools and services that meet local needs.

SERVIR Amazonia

At the Alliance of Bioversity International and the International Center for Tropical Agriculture (CIAT) in Cali, Colombia with a consortium of partners.

SERVIR Central America

Implemented by the Tropical Agricultural Research and Higher Education Center (CATIE) in Costa Rica.

SERVIR Hindu Kush Himalaya

International Centre for Integrated Mountain Development (ICIMOD) in Kathmandu, Nepal.

SERVIR Southeast Asia

Asian Disaster Preparedness Center (ADPC) in Bangkok, Thailand with a consortium of partners.

SERVIR West Africa

Centre for Remote Sensing and Geographic Information Services (CERSGIS) in Accra, Ghana, Centre de Suivi Écologique (CSE) in Dakar, Senegal, and the International Crops Research Institute for the Semi-Arid Tropics (ICRISAT) in Bamako, Mali.

Previously, SERVIR supported a regional hub in Eastern and Southern Africa.
