SERVIR Applied Sciences Team (AST) PI Shraddhanand Shukla was interviewed in a recent online feature posted by Science News.  The article looks at the potential of improving sub-seasonal forecasting, filling the gap between short term and seasonal forecasts. In coordination with the SERVIR-West Africa hub, Dr. Shukla’s research aims to improve agricultural decision making by increasing access to publicly-available, state-of-the-art sub-seasonal climate forecasts; translating these forecasts into products directly linked with agricultural, rangeland, and water productivity; and building capacity to enable sustained usage by national and regional agencies in West Africa.  Click here to read the full article.
