Role/Title: Senior Communications Specialist
Year you joined SERVIR: 2017

Please introduce yourself. What are you passionate about?
I've always been passionate about development work, especially how communication tools and media can affect positive change for people living in rural communities. Since I've spent my childhood growing up in many different countries and having been exposed to diverse groups of people, I want to help create awareness and visibility to global issues, especially the devastating consequences of climate change.

What initially attracted you to this field of work?
I have a background in both communications and international relations and have always had interest in doing community based development work, with an interest in how the power of media can bring about positive social change.

What SERVIR activity are you currently working on?
I am responsible for managing social media, publications and other communication tools for the SERVIR-Mekong project. My job as a communications lead is to craft messages for different audiences and to ensure that SERVIR-Mekong's work is being shared effectively to the donor, partners, and beneficiaries.

How does your work generate positive change?
Countries in the Lower Mekong suffer devastating consequences of natural disasters, including floods, droughts and mudslides that result in loss of lives and threaten livelihoods. Through my work at SERVIR-Mekong, we support governments to utilize space technology to assist in disaster relief planning. This helps keep communities safer and allows relief efforts to reach vulnerable communities in the aftermath of a disaster.
