What We do
Overview
The SERVIR Global Collaborative works with independent regional hubs, countries, and partner organizations to co-create solutions that strengthen resilience, protect ecosystems, and improve lives. Our work spans critical areas including food and water security, forest and biodiversity conservation, climate and weather resilience, and air quality.
What makes the SERVIR Global Collaborative unique is the way we integrate world-class science, satellite Earth observations, advanced GeoAI, and cutting-edge modeling, with the deep, place-based knowledge of our regional partners. By combining these strengths, we design solutions that are locally relevant, scientifically rigorous, and scalable across regions.
Our Collaborative thrives on a powerful network of relationships. Independent hubs in Africa, Asia, and the Americas lead their own priorities, drawing on partnerships with governments, research institutions, NGOs, and the private sector to deliver impact where it matters most. Together, we harness satellite data, data science, and collaborative innovation to support healthy, sustainable communities, livelihoods, and environments.
The name “SERVIR” comes from Latin, meaning to serve. True to that name, we partner with local, national, and regional institutions; working side-by-side with scientists, development practitioners, and subject matter experts to co-develop and implement activities we call solutions. Each solution is tailored to address specific environmental or development challenges, yet built to be shared and adapted, so that success in one place can inspire change in another.
